My Story

In January 2004, my husband and I got married at the young ages of 19 and 20. We dropped out of college to do so :( We always said, "we can go back later....it will be easy!". Well, needless to say, life happened. We were young, racked up debt in all sorts of ways, had a child 11 1/2 months later, and then proceeded to rack up more debt. Some of the debt came about just because we didn't care, but some of it came about because we just didn't know any better.
Fast forward to the present day, with a total of 3 children (J-6, D-3, and G-2), we are finally learning to clip away at our debt. It isn't always easy, but it is always soooo worth it! My sister - in - law (who is starting her own blog over at SAHM - Chipping Away) called me one day and got me hooked! For the past 8 or so months, I have become a pretty avid couponer and deal seeker! My husband didn't know what to think at first, but now he appreciates all of the $3, $5, etc checks that come in the mail!
In the next few weeks, I will be laying the foundation for my blog down which is mainly to teach the people in my area how to be better home managers in the financial sense (and I'm sure other ways!). I will post a list of our total debt (comes to roughly $20,000) and let you see our progress along the way. It will be humbling to say the least, but if it will help someone else to avoid similar mistakes or even to get out of their past mistakes, it will be well worth it!
